"Angels Among Us"

Did you know?...

There are "angels among us!"  That's right, all around you, everyday.  You'll have to look hard to find them sometimes because they may not be so obvious.  But, they are there watching, protecting you, serving you, reaching out and helping you along...  They come in various ways...in our homes, at church, our jobs, the grocery store, and many other places we may not expect to find them.  They come in all shapes and sizes, some are young/older, some are short/tall, some are seasoned with wisdom, while some are ready for something new.  Many are truly miracles in our lives...

Angels are among us in our Relief Society and we look forward to celebrating the Relief Society Anniversary together.  Join us, and bring the angels in your life!
  • When:  Tuesday, March 23rd
  • Time:  6:30pm
  • Where:  Cultural Hall at the ward building
  • Light dinner/dessert, getting-to-know-you activity, service opportunity, and special thoughts/music
  • Nursery provided by sisters from the YSA wards
~~What an enjoyable, uplifting evening it will be!  Come celebrate the angels among us!~~

March Activities and Workshops Calendar

Happy Anniversary, Relief Society!  What a profound blessing it is to be part of the largest worldwide women's organization, divinely inspired, where we have the opportunity to serve, share, uplift, support, and strengthen.  It truly is a time to celebrate together as we support the purpose of Relief Society (http://www.ldschurch.org/):
  • Help sisters and their families come unto Christ
How do we do this?
  • Build faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and teach the doctrines of the kingdom (see 2 Nephi 31:20-21; Omni 1:26).
  • Emphasize the divine worth of each sister (see D&C 25:2-3, 15-16; Moses 6:9).
  • Exercise charity and nurture those in need (See Mosiah 4:26; Moroni 7:46-48).
  • Strengthen and protect families (see Mosiah 4:14-15; D&C 130:2).
  • Serve and support each sister (see 1 Corinthians 12:13-27).
  • Help sisters become full participants in the blessings of the priesthood (see D&C 66:2; 84:35-39; Moses 5:1).
What a privilege and a joy it is to be in this organization with each of you!  May you know and feel of the Lord's infinite love for you.  (Click HERE to view the Relief Society Commemoration video.)

We look forward to celebrating this special time with you!  Please share the blessings of Relief Society with other women you meet, so that they, too, may feel of the Savior's love for them as a beloved daughter of God.

December Relief Society Meeting Activities

Merry Christmas, Sisters!

Please accept my apologies for not updating the blog sooner as I've been out of town, and I don't know about anyone else, but I'm convinced time has been speeding up lately!  December is almost half over!

Okay, now that I've caused you a panic attack because there are so many things left to do before Christmas Day arrives, take a few moments aside from the hustle'n'bustle and busyness to remember the reason for the season...our Savior, Jesus Christ.

There's a phrase I keep seeing around and maybe you've seen it, too.  "The magic of Christmas is not the presents, but in His presence."  (I've looked for the author, but have been unable to find one in order to give credit.)  I love this thought because it helps us reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.  May you and your family feel of His love and may we share that love with others:  friends, neighbors, and strangers alike.

Because December already brings many activities and special events, there are only a few Relief Society Meetings this month.

Thursday, Dec. 3...Yoga, 7pm @ Lynette, Julie, & Lisa's home.  Bring water, a yoga mat, and wear comfy clothes.  This is a great way to relax from holiday stress.

Sunday, Dec. 6...First Presidency Christmas Devotional, 6pm @ Stake Center.

Wednesday, Dec. 9...Book Club, 7pm @ Toni's home.  We'll be sharing Christmas stories, so bring your favorite one.  Also, we'll discuss last month's book, "A Guide to the Birds of East Africa" by Nicholas Draysen.

Thursday, Dec. 10...No yoga due to Stake Temple Night, 7pm @the temple.  Meet at Lynette, Julie, & Lisa's home to carpool.  This is wonderful opportunity to unite as a stake and ward family and serve the Lord.

Friday, Dec. 11...Ward Christmas Party, 6:30pm @ the ward bldg.  Come enjoy a catered dinner, talent show, and meet the jolly guy from the North Pole with your ward family.

Saturday, Dec. 12...Stake Conference - Adult session, 7-9pm @ the Stake Center.

Sunday, Dec. 13...Stake Conference - General session, 10am-12pm @ the Stake Center.

Thursday, Dec. 17...Yoga, 7pm @ Lynette, Julie, & Lisa's home. Bring water, a yoga mat, and wear comfy clothes. Take a moment to relax and do something good for yourself.

Sunday, Dec. 20..."The Gift of His Presence" during Relief Society, 1pm.  We'll be taking just a few moments to share a special gift with each sister for our "condensed" Quarterly Activity.

Thursday, Dec. 24...No yoga

Friday, Dec. 25...Merry Christmas!

Thursday, Dec. 31...No yoga.  Happy New Year's Eve!

"YOU are LOVED!" HFPE Quarterly Activity

Dear Sisters,

YOU are loved by your Heavenly Father, your Relief Society Presidency, your Home, Family, and Personal Enrichment Committee, your families, and countless others! I hope you know and feel that on a regular basis. However, we likely have days where that love may feel a little more faint. We may forget for a time...

That's why we invite you to come to a special HFPE Quarterly Activity, "YOU are LOVED," to remind us how much we truly are loved and some of the many resources we've been blessed with to remind us of this magnificent, unconditional gift. The inspiration for this activity came from Josh Groban's song, "You are Loved (Don't Give Up)" (see below). On a side note, I heard this song performed at one of his concerts. It's a powerful message and one we need in a world that would have us forget...

When: THIS coming Tuesday, Sep. 22nd
Time: 6:30pm
Where: The Clubhouse (email or call for directions as I don't like to put addresses on the blog)

Keynotes Speakers: Stake Patriarch and his wife
Other fun things: Handouts and take homes to help us feel loved spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, etc., lots of socializing and support

*Nursery will be provided courtesy of Kandi and her Achievement Day girls*
~Light refreshments will be served~

This will be a wonderful evening you won't want to miss! We hope you will be able to attend! Any questions, please contact Amanda or a member of the HFPE Committee.

We love you, sisters! YOU are LOVED - Always know that!

Love,
The Home, Family, and Personal Enrichment Committee

P.S. This Quarterly Activity is in preparation for the annual General Relief Society Meeting on Saturday, Sept. 26th @ 6pm. For broadcast information, click here. Otherwise, meet us at the stake center at 6pm on that day to view the live broadcast together as sisters.
